Chapter 35

This is the fourth day that Fu Zhen was kidnapped, during this time he has not drink any water or eaten any grain of rice. He feels shortness of breath and his eyelids are getting heavier, now he just wants to close his eyes and sleep well but he also know he can’t, he’s afraid he will never wake up again if he did.

Fu Zhen understands Liu Han’s intentions, he just wants to trap him here, he who has no relatives even if disappears for no reasons, no one will come to find him. He just doesn’t know how long will his bones be discovered.

If he only know that he would experience this dire situation he should have write a will in advance and leave his little savings to Jiang Hengshu.

Fu Zhen sighed silently, he was really tired and his mind is already peaceful. There are only fuzzy figures inside however he was quickly swallowed by the white mist, his eyelids gradually dropped and plunged into darkness.

**

Fu Zhen was awakened by a loud knock on the door, he didn’t know how long he had been asleep. He opened his heavy eyelids and looked in the direction of the door, Liu Han has the key to this tin room so it shouldn’t be him outside. He opened his mouth to ask for help but his voice was too small like a mosquito.

Fu Zhen bit his lip hardly to wake himself, he opened his mouth and let out a hysterical sound but the volume was still low like a trapped beast in the empty tin room.

But fortunately the people outside never gave up, the iron door finally fell down with a bang. A tall figure stood at the door with moonlight pouring down on him and behind there was bright starlight.

The breeze was blowing slowly and the winter ice and snow turned into blooming flowers scattered all over the place.

Fu Zhen thinks he had hallucinations.

That is…

Jiang Hengshu.

“You…why are you here?”

Fu Zhen voice was very hoarse and torn when speaking, with pain his voice was too small he wondered if Jiang Hengshu can hear him.

Jiang Hengshu walked towards Fu Zhen in silence, squatted down in front of him and then untied the rope.

Fu Zhen stared blankly at everything in front of him, he seemed to be dreaming. He was afraid that when he woke up Jiang Hengshu in front of him would disappear, he didn’t know what he could do to keep him.

Tears seemed like beads that had dropped one after another rolling down from his eyes, dripping on the back if Jiang Hengshu’s hand.

Jiang Hengshu seems to feel something and raised his head, colliding with Fu Zhen’s eyes.

He seemed to sigh lightly, he raised his hand to carefully dry the tears on Fu Zhen’s face, stood up and said to him,

“Let’s go.”

Fu Zhen said something in a low voice, except that he had injured leg, he had been frozen in the tin room for days and could not walk at all. Fu Zhen raised his head and looked at Jiang Hengshu his eyes covered with tears, watching—looking so pitiful,

“Can’t get up?” Jiang Hengshu asked.

Fu Zhen nodded.

“Let me carry you.”

Jiang Hengshu turned his back on Fu Zhen, squatting down in front of him.

The back facing him was wide and warm, Fu Zhen lay on it, his head leaning on Jiang Hengshu’s shoulder, his eyeslids quickly dropped and he began to feel sleepy.

Jiang Hengshu took a small bottle of mint from his pocket and hand it over to Fu Zhen,

“Don’t sleep, you eat some of the candy first.”

He walked out of the blue tin room with Fu Zhen on his back going towards his car that was parked on a narrow road not far away.

Under the cold moonlight, the shadows of Jiang Hengshu and Fu Zhen were intertwined like a twin tree born from ancient times—inseparable.

The evening breeze blew the branches and made a rustling sound. Fu Zhen felt better after eating some of the candy, he couldn’t help calling his name,

“Jiang Hengshu?”

Jiang Hengshu gave a hum said nothing else.

“Jiang Hengshu…”

“What’s the matter?”, Jiang Hengshu asked.

Fu Zhen’s arms around Jiang Hengsu tightened slightly and his breath fell on Jiang Hengshu’s neck.

The moonlight, the withered pine tree, the small house—everything seems so beautiful like a dream.

I like you….

But in the end, what Fu Zhen said was not this.

“The moonlight is so beautiful tonight.” He said

  5. 月が綺麗ですね | tsuki ga kirei desu ne translates to “The moon is beautiful, isn’t it?” This phrase is a more poetic way of saying I love you. Might be reach but I think this is what fu Zhen meant.
