Chapter 63
Jiang Liangchan decided to hang on for her dear life.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I think the love letter is deeply emotional, the angle is new, very good and starting point is kind although I don’t know who did it but such people should not be punished.”
“Oh? Is that right?”
Chen Fang leaned forward and got close to Jiang Liangchan with the tip of his nose almost touching her.
Jiang Liangchan was so frightened that she wanted to scream but notice that her hand was empty and the enlarge face in front of her disappeared, Chen Fang retreated.
He shook the scroll in her hand.
That was Jiang Liangchan’s drawing of a chicken pecking with Li Hongru’s inscription, on the way back she has been cherishing it in her hand.
Chen Fang took the scroll out of her hand and unwrapped it, spreading it flat on his knee. His slender finger pointing at the first poem inscribed on it.
“This is the poem you inscribed on the painting is your own handwriting.”
He picked up the letter and laid it next to him.
“This is the love letter from the man who just wrote it.”
His lips curled up in a cruel arc.
“Do you ever think that the handwriting looks exactly the same?”
Jiang Liangchan: “….”
Oh, is that so?
Then, I’m dead again.
Chen Fang put on a nonchalant slap on her head.
“Don’t try to play dead again, say it. What’s going on?”
Jiang Liangchan moved slowly.
After thinking it over again, she spoke slowly.
“Do you want to hear a story? A story based on real events?”
Chen Fang narrowed his eyes.
Jiang Liangchan begins with, “I have a friend” and tells a vivid love story.
The hero of the story was saved by a “friend”. The “friend” was gentle and moving, she get along with hero and gradually they found the harmony as her heart was in tune with his.
The “friend” falls in love first.
But because the hero was slow on detecting his true feelings and dislike that the heroine’s identity was not noble enough the hero not only doesn’t find his love but also was a little harsh on her.
But the “friend” knows that she loves him and still treat him with tenderness.
Then one day, the “friend” when out to pick some herbs when she accidentally fell of the cliff and died.
The hero, despite the danger rushed down the cliff in the heavy rain but only in time to pick up the “friend” who has a stiff and cold body.
The cold, icy rain hit his face as he hugged his “friend” and cried to the sky.
Jiang Liangchan said heavily.
“This time, he realized that he had fallen in love with her long ago, he regretted, he suffered, he was chagrined and he hated himself. Why he was so slow, why he did not discover his heart earlier.”
“He finally knew he loved her, but it was too late.”
“He lost her forever.”
“It is not terrible to love someone, what is terrible is that by the time you find your love, you have lost it forever.”
Jiang Liangchan’s tone was trembling and mournful.
The carriage was quiet.
Even Jiang Liangchan’s hair strands were intwined with lingering sorrow.
Chen Fang did not speak for a long time.
Jiang Liangchan felt that there was something unusual but it doesn’t feel right.
Was all her method useless, wasn’t he moved now?
After all even if he was a hot blooded youngster, whose heart would not be moved after hearing that story?
Jiang Liangchan even kind of wanted to apologize to him after mournfully telling his story.
But Chen Fang who did not speak for a long time, spoke slowly.
“Indeed poignant, so it is your friend?”
Jiang Liangchan nodded vigorously.
Not that she blows but she was really good at telling this story.
It was full of emotional tension and infectious power which makes people couldn’t help but be immersed in it and moved by it.
It was just, the characters in her story were very particular.
She didn’t say she saw a talking story, but said it was her friend.
The point was, this friend was similar to Hua Shan.
Low status, saved a handsome man.
He, on the other hand was still haunted by the death of his friend, years later.
So seeing a pair of people like Chen Fang and Hua Shan, she wanted to push them together in every way to save them from leaving regrets.
What does this mean?
It shows how deep the friendship was between her and that friend!
Would such woman harm Hua Shan in the same situation as her poor friend?
Certainly not.
So, again would Chen Fang blame her again one day for what happens to Hua Shan according to plot?
That’s definitely not possible!
With all of this, how do people live on?
With wisdom.
Chen Fang carelessly played with the scroll.
“You have not been out of the capital for three years, there is no cliff in the capital and near the capital. I am curious, how did you have a friend who fell off a cliff, fell to her death and not to mention has low status?”
Jiang Liangchan: “…”
Sorry.
She retracted her apology.
This dog of a man.
Chen Fang thought that the way she stared angrily with her eyes wide open was much cuter than when she spoke falsely about her friend.
This little anger of hers.
He finds this pattern amusing.
It turns out that the more unresponsive she was, the angrier she gets.
Tsk, it’s obvious that she made up the story she even took it seriously and got angry.
Ah, the nose is wrinkled with anger.
Feeling that her eyes were sore from glaring any longer, Chen Fang withdrew his scrutinizing eyes and asked.
“Are you trying to say that you think I’m like the man who fell in love with just like that friend of yours and you automatically substituted me into the story which was why you had to set me up?”
Jiang Liangchan: “….can also say the same thing.”
Chen Fang threw the scroll back into her arms and said,
“All right, I know who like and who I don’t like so don’t get involved. Next time, your brother will answer the consequences.”
The carriage had stopped at the entrance of Jiang’s house.
Jing Liangchan had nothing to say to him and was about to get out of the car with the scroll in her arms.
Chen Fang called out to her.
“Wait a minute, give me the painting.”
In the study, Chen Fang drew a few stroke on Jiang Liangchan’s leftover ink and brush. On her picture of a chicken pecking rice which now has a poem inscribe on it causing the picture to look cute and lovely.
Like clouds drifting across the sky.
A few more waves were added to the stream of coquettishly style.
Jiang Liangchan felt very swollen earlier so Chen Fang added this, making the painting appear more complete.
He guessed it’s okay to at least help her with this much but Jiang Liangchan couldn’t help but express on her face how unimpressed she was.
Chen Fang did not miss the unimpressed look on Jiang Liangchan’s face, he smiled and dragged paper and turned his back then wrote a line on it and when the ink dried up he folded it up and handed it to her saying.
“We will read it tomorrow at the banquet.”
Jiang Liangchan took it and tried to open it for a peek but was gently tapped by Chen Fang on the back of her hand with a brush.
“Behave well, and don’t be bullied.”
