Chapter 54

Xu Yanwen sent over was a large hand stroking the kitten’s head, the little kitten opened her mouth and said meow while next to it was a word “good.”

Xue Jiayue thought that cat was cute and snorted a laugh.

When Tang Xintian heard the laughter she turned her head to her and asked curiously.

“What are you laughing at?”

Xue Jiayue couldn’t tell Tang Xintian about the WeChat content sent by her and Xu Yanwen so she quickly put away the smile on her face and said without exchanging her demeanor.

“It’s the message sent to me by my brother at home, it’s a funny picture.”

While talking Xue Jiayue said inwardly.

Sorry male lead now let me just wronged you a little and be my nominal brother for the time being.

In her mind, Xue Jiayue also pictured Xu Yanwen’s expression if he knew she think of him as her brother—he probably would still have a calm expression.

The black eyes behind the frameless glasses emitted a cold light. And if those cold eyes had substance they would be inserted into her body like a sharp sword.

She could only kneel on the ground trembling and crying for forgiveness like those cannon fodder characters in the anime!

Tang Xintian did not pry into Xue Jiayue’s, as she also did not know what was on her mind and just thought that she was really sending messages with her brother. Smiling she said.

“You and your brother have a good relationship?”

“It’s okay.”

Xue Jiayue then remembered Xu Yanlin, that devil brat. She had a bad relationship with him before but after the last incident she didn’t know what Xu Yanwen had done to him but Xu Yanlin was now well behaved when he saw her.

He even honestly called him “sister-in-law” and wouldn’t provoke her. He really became different person from before.

The car drove smoothly all the way and soon arrived at the ancient city of Xiangguo. Xue Jiayue and Tang Xintian got out of the car and walked along the stone paved roads towards the inside of the city.

The streets were lined with antiques stores with signs hanging in front of them, waving in the wind as if they were soliciting customers.

Along the way, there were stores selling pastries, store selling cloth, stores selling calligraphy and painting, teahouses, restaurants and so on.

When they arrived at the big theater in the center, there was a crew filming in it. The perimeter was cordoned off and special staff were responsible for maintaining order.

Passers-by and visitors who wanted to sight see couldn’t pass through, they could only stopped at the doorway to glance.

“It looks very interesting.”

Xue Jiayue glanced inside the door and said.

“I just don’t know what the hero and heroine look like? Is it the most recent popular star?”

Tang Xintian was wearing a large sunglasses and a sun hat on her head, the brim of the hat was pressed down very low covering half of her face.

She pulled Xue Jiayue and said.

“Let’s go to other places to see.”

Xue Jiayue had no opinion and followed Tang Xintian to another place.

The ancient city of Xiangguo, it take more than 40 minutes to circle the place. After checking out the place Xue Jiayue found that it was really like what Xu Yanwen said.

The online publicity was very good, but in fact it was not the same as she was expecting.

“Let’s go to other places for a stroll?”

Tang Xintian seeks Xue Jiayue’s opinion.

Xue Jiayue said okay, the two people retook the car to go to the Drum Tower to play only after arriving, the Drum Tower was similar to what Xu Yanwen said.

It was a lonely building which could be toured several times in 30 minutes.

“I feel cheated.”

Xue Jiayue was a little disappointed.

Tang Xintian lightly smiled.

“These places are only here for plays, the next time we make an appointment we can go to Hainan or Yunnan, Tibet to play.”

“I haven’t been to Tibet yet.”

Xue Jiayue was immediately interested.

“When are we going together?”

“Okay, let’s make an appointment.”

Tang Xintian spoke very sweetly and the two agreed to go to Tibet to play when they were free.

After two of three attractions were not much fun, Xue Jiayue and Tang Xintian were also tired of shopping they found a coffee shop to drink afternoon tea and then walked around the nearby shopping mall and bought everything very happily.

By the time the two finished buying it was getting late, and happened to be when Xu Yanwen and Gu Tingshen called.

Xu Yanwen asked Xue Jiayue on the phone where she was so she told him the address and within twenty minutes Xu Yanwen and Gu Tingshen drove over.

The four of them met outside the mall, Gu Tingshen had a reception to attend in the evening so he took Tang Xintian and left first to say goodbye.

After seeing Gu Tinghsne and Tang Xintian’s car leave, Xu Yanwen turned his head to look at Xue Jiayue beside him who was carrying several bag in her hands, obviously she had a good harvest.

“Have fun today?”

Xue Jiayue shook her head.

“Not fun.”

It was not fun buying many things?

Xu Yanwen reached out his hand towards her.

“What are you doing?”

Xue Jiayue looked at his outreached hand in confusion, he, what did he mean by this?

Seeing Xue Jiayue’s confused face and motionless, Xu Yanwen stretched out his finger and poke her forehead.

“What are you thinking about?”

Xue Jiayue covered her forehead with her hand.

“Don’t you give me something yet?”

Xu Yanwen simply stretched out his hands to help her take the bag.

But when his big palm reached over it inevitably touched Xue Jiayue’s hand and made the latter subconsciously retract her hand like a frightened little rabbit.

Xu Yanwen couldn’t help but stare as a strange flash flashed across his face. He then said,

“You bought so many things, can you carry it all?”

“Give it, I’ll carry it for you.”

Xue Jiayue wanted to say she could carry it herself and there was no need to bother Xu Yanwen but before she could say it Xu Yanwen had picked up several bags.

Xu Yanwen carried his things, striding ahead with his long legs. Xue Jiayue looked at his long back for a moment and pursed her lips before she quickly stepped forward to catch up.

Hmmm I’d be annoyed if someone took me to play and then got involved with work 🤨 At least she had a buddy to go out with.

    Thanks for the chapter
