Chapter 1 – Transmigrated into the book

TL: sadaharu

Jiang Ran lies on the bed with her eyes wide open, staring at the rooftop without blinking.

There was spider web hanging on the beams and there were also spiders crawling around from time to time.

Slightly turning her head sideways she could see the wall.

The wall was taped with old newspapers which were yellowed and covered with layers of dust so it was impossible to see clearly what was written on them.

In some places the newspapers were torn apart and was on the ground, revealing the dirty yellow walls.

As soon as Jiang Ran regained consciousness she received the original owner’s memory.

But even after she have digested all the memories she still feel unbelievable and incredible at the same seeing what was in front of her.

Jiang Ran was born in a family of Traditional Chinese Medicine, although she doesn’t love traditional Chinese medicine she has been influenced since childhood.

Just after growing up a little bit, she began to hold a thick medical book and started memorizing what was inside of it.

So after studying for so many years she was able to have some achievements in Chinese medicine like developing new drugs and won many awards.

But compared to achieving many things in Chinese medicine Jiang Ran prefers cooking.

Good thing was her family was not old-fashioned, as long as she does well in Chinese medicine the rest of her time could be learn on anything she wanted to learn.

After years of study and research, Jiang Ran’s achievement in the culinary arts were if not, better than her Chinese medicine achievements.

Jiang Ran clearly remembers that before she fainted she had just won the overall championship of the national cooking competition.

She was so happy and excited that she was jumping and dancing with the trophy in her arms.

And then—

And then she didn’t remembered what happened next.

By the time she was conscious again she was already lying in this bed and became someone with the same name and surname, Jiang Ran.

And as soon as she woke up she received the memories of the original owner.

It was because she received the memories of the original owner, Jiang Ran knew she transmigrated into a book.

This was the novel she reads when she has nothing else to do.

She couldn’t remember the name of the novel but she still remember the general content.

The main story was that the male lead Pei Huai who came from a poor family background had climbed the ladder by studying hard and since he was fascinated by scientific research he finally became a researcher and became friends with the female lead who was a successful woman in the business world.

The two were roughly comparable, who had attraction with each other at first sight then turned to love and from then hand in hand they loved each other throughout their life.

The original owner on the other hand was an adopted child bride by the male lead’s parents to be his future bride in the countryside.

Yes, a child bride.1

The original owner was adopted by Pei Huai’s family when she was six or seven years old.

Rather than saying adopted it was accurate to say she was bought.

The man who gave the original owner to the Pei family was not the original owner’s blood related but the man who abducted the original owner.

After the original owner arrived at the Pei family she went to school with the male lead.

In those days, communal elementary schools did not charge tuition fees so every family in the village would send their children to school.

The reason sending them was not for their children to learn anything but just want for someone to look after their children for free so that adults don’t have to worry about the safety of the children when they go to work.

The original owner’s grades at school were pretty good so she went to junior high school with the male lead.

But junior high school was different form elementary school. Junior high school was located in the county, too far from the village so it was impossible to go home every day. Students could only live in school dormitories.

And living in school dormitories means they have to pay for the room, food and drinks not to mention tuition and books.

In total it would add up into a considerable amount of expenditure.

The Pei family was an ordinary family from a village whose family rely working to earn points, and at every end of the year they could earn a ration to fed their family so they don’t need much money.

Pei Huai was the oldest in the family. He studies well and especially love learning, since he has been admitted Pei father and Pei mother naturally wants him to go to school.

But it would be a different story for the original owner.
